Nocturne Alchemy - Bergamot & Egyptian Mint Tea

my scent of the day this afternoon is a lovely throwback to summer - Bergamot & Egyptian Mint Tea (Bergamot and Organic Egyptian Mint essential oil and Egyptian Black Tea infused) by Nocturne Alchemy

this perfume is pretty straightforward, notes-wise. there's mint, and there's tea, and they come together to create something light, fresh, green and wearable.

in the bottle, the mint is a very green and fresh one which adds a coolness to the scent overall. the sharpness of the mint is only very slightly tempered by the bergamot and is grounded by the black tea.

the scent morphed a bit more than i had wanted on my skin though - the freshness of the mint fades off after the first half hour of wear, so that this reminds me more of mint that had been picked a few days prior instead of that on a healthy growing live plant. it's probably good for those who don't like to be assaulted by Swiss-mountain levels of fresh mint which insist on being the star of the show, though the net result is a significantly subdued version from that which i preferred in the bottle.

after about an hour of wear i don't get any more bergamot, and the tea is almost indistinguishable from my skin; overall i probably managed to get about 2 hours of wear on my skin before i couldn't detect this any more. the throw was decent, strongest within a foot or so but still detectable from two feet away.

i personally wished i could have gotten more mint and so felt that the drydown wasn't up to what i had expected from the scent in the bottle, though objectively it's not as bad as my subjective rating makes it out to be. 5/10.

this review is of a perfume that i had purchased secondhand with my own money. i wasn't asked to review this scent as a condition of receipt and didn't receive any incentives for writing this. i'm not affiliated with Nocturne Alchemy or Ajevie and as always, all opinions remain my own.

Bergamot & Egyptian Mint Tea is part of Nocturne Alchemy's permanent collection and is available hereprices are US$11 for a 2ml bottle, US$22 for a 5ml bottle and US$44 for a 10ml bottle (before shipping). this little vial was an Ajevie decant which i had purchased secondhand; you can check this one out on Ajevie's site here.
