Galatea Cosmetics - Eldritch Elixir (wax melt)

today i decided to enjoy my Galatea Cosmetics wax melt inspired by H.P. Lovecraft's "The Call of Cthulhu", Eldritch Elixir (Lavender, cucumber, gin, chamomile, Assam black tea), from their R'lyeh Is For Lovers collection.

the melts are intensely rich both in the visual and olfactory sense - the lovely purple hue enhances the impressions of the lavender influence while the throw even in solid form is subtle but still respectable. apart from using these wax tarts in a melter, from my experience these do lend themselves well to being tucked away in a little mesh bag in the closet just to freshen up the place a little with a subtle scent over time.

these wax melts come in a set of six blocks and are packed in compact and form-fitting plastic trays; the wax itself is also relatively easy to cut with a knife though this blend does tend to shed a few more flakes than expected.

Eldritch Elixir is a unique combination of relaxing lavender and chamomile, vibrant cucumber and gin, and perky black tea. i get the soft and comforting lavender-chamomile blend as the main influence, contrasted with a strong Assam black tea note that screams "good morning sleepyhead". the gin and cucumber are faint but also contribute a much-welcome freshness to the blend overall. it's a scent that is both relaxing and energising, calming and invigorating, and lives up to its fantasy inspiration of being what i would imagine a glowing eldritch elixir could smell like.

over the flame, the chamomile is slightly stronger though the main composition of the scent doesn't change too much from my impressions in solid form. in my melter, this had a lovely throw of a few metres; the aroma also lasted for six to seven hours and filled the room. i enjoyed this one very much and will be keeping a solid cube in my notepad drawer, to scent my stationery with. 8/10.
