Teo Cabanel - discovery set haul

i've been seeing quite a bit of hype about Paris fragrance house Teo Cabanel recently, though i had not had any experience with their perfumes before. that all changed with the launch of their new Les Expressions Parfumées range - they were offering free samples of these three scents with purchase and i decided  that it was as good a time as any to try out their scents with a discovery set.

with a heritage dating all the way back to the end of the 19th century, Teo Cabanel is truly an established niche perfume house from France, seeking to create a unique link between the inherited know-how from its history and the creativity of modern perfumery in the present.

each of the 1.5ml samples came in its own customised box, and all of these were packed into a lovely drawstring pouch made of organic cotton. i had chosen mine in "noir" (black and white) since they were out of stock of the "Cafe Cabanel" (red, black and white) at the time of order.

another cool thing about their discovery set is that its price (25 euros when i purchased, now increased to 30 euros with the formal addition of the new release samples to the set) is fully refunded on the next order placed within 6 months, a great idea to incentivise trying out their collection as well as full-sizing one's favourite(s).

the Teo Cabanel website is beautifully minimalist and easy to navigate, though the lack of a master scent list was a slight drawback when i was musing over how to shortlist a potential larger-size buy, since i personally like to see everything at a glance when deciding what to order.

they also sorted their scents by concentration - eaux de parfum and eaux de toilette, and also have a separate section for their latest release Les Expressions Parfumées, which is "clean inside and out" - a range made with responsibly sourced ingredients, through ethical supply chains and eco-designed packaging, and constituting healthy formulations without petro-chemicals, preservatives, endocrine disruptors, UV filters, stabilizers, dyes. i found this to be a really meaningful perspective and much-needed approach in today's day and age, and kudos to the brand for taking such deliberate steps forward on sustainability and environmental consciousness.

Teo Cabanel offers free shipping (even internationally) and their turnaround time was a lightning-quick 2 days from my order confirmation to the notice of shipment.

here's the rundown of all the samples that i'll be trying in this gorgeous discovery set:
