Heaven Scent Wax Melts - Christmas Berries (wax melt)

'tis the season indeed for some lovely seasonal home fragrances, so i decided to start working my way through my wax advent calendar from UK-based indie creator Heaven Scent Wax Melts. one of the first melts i had opened was this lovely deep purple christmas stocking scented in Christmas Berries (no notes available) so i decided to give it a go.

these particular melts are a little on the smaller side (considering that they needed to be able to fit into the advent calendar packaging) but i was glad that they were the perfect size for my tealight-powered mini melter. the colours are quite intense, with the occasional sprinkling of glitter and other sparkles to give it just that little dimension as it turns to liquid. the soy wax is also of a good quality, not being too sticky to the touch even in warm humid Singapore.

this had a decent throw once i opened the ziploc bag, though not as much as i had expected. in solid form, it could work as a scent for a very small enclosed space like a bathroom cupboard or dresser drawer, but that's probably as far as it can go.

no official notes were available for Christmas Berries, though the main impressions that i received from this one were quite plummy, almost christmas-pudding like with red berries and a touch of holly. there's also something in here that reads candy-like to my nose, whether it's sugar or candy canes or some similar confectionery. it's a nice gourmand that feels right for the season, though personally i would have liked it to have had some more depth and complexity over time.

in my melter, this had a decent throw of about a metre and lasted for about four to five hours or so. i wasn't able to smell it outside of that space, and had to resort to using a fan at an indirect angle to waft some of that christmas sweetness over before it disappeared for good. 4/10.
