still on advent scent-lendar backlog, the next winter-themed gift to myself was The Snow Garden by Parchment Studios (formerly Latherati). i'm really glad that i had managed to pick up a good number of full-sizes from them before they closed last year, as i love the elegant roller bottles and their floral blends are really something.
The Snow Garden is a beautifully sweet scent experience that combines the soft freshness of flowers in bloom with the cosy sweetness of a mild winter's day. its description is simple yet poignant: Wolf-hearted Snow has a garden all of white. Delicate white floral blend, a twist of lemon & sweet marshmallow on a bed of white musk.
the first sniffs from the bottle reveal an amazingly well-blended bouquet of flowers; from the official notes these are lily of the valley, daisy, sweet pea and white freesia. the sweet pea stands out to me in particular, perhaps because The Snow Garden shares it and the daisies, marshmallow and white musk as common notes with my favourite sleep scent, Sucreabeille's Rainbow Bridge.
where Rainbow Bridge is more on the floral side, The Snow Garden is heavier on the marshmallow and musk to make it a sweeter flormand. this smells so delicious that it would be something that any plain dessert could wear to a party; in fact, i found myself tempted to lick it off my own wrist over the course of wearing this.
on my skin, the flowers bloom in a stunning showcase of spring at its zenith, and the lemon makes an appearance with a subtle citrusy zing that frames the sweet bouquet and gives it more dimension. the marshmallow remains strong throughout while the white musk contributes a good deal to the wearability of the scent. like the rest of Parchment Studios' offerings, The Snow Garden is a relatively stable scent that doesn't morph too much on my skin. the soft floral marshmallow persisted through the drydown and lasted a good five hours of wear on my skin with a moderate throw of about a foot.
there are some days when i just need something soft and sweet to improve my mood, and The Snow Garden has now become one of my firm go-tos for those times. i'm really glad to have enjoyed this one as part of my advent scent-lendar, and will definitely be enjoying this quite a bit even after winter has passed. 9/10.

this review is of a product that i had purchased at regular price with my own money. i wasn’t asked to review this scent as a condition of receipt and didn’t receive any incentives for writing this. i’m not affiliated with Parchment Studios and as always, all opinions remain my own.
Parchment Studios (formerly Latherati) has closed in mid-2019 and unfortunately their scents are no longer available.
