Paneco.com Singapore, Glengoyne (unboxing)

since a few people had reached out to me recently by direct message on Instagram to ask where i get my alcohol, i thought that it would be the perfect time to do an unboxing video and review of one of my recent purchases from Paneco.com Singapore. because good things must share, right?

there are a few online retailers that i frequent for original bottlings, Paneco.com being one of them. i've made multiple orders from these guys and am proud to say that i have been a very happy repeat customer. my bottles always arrive in good condition, protected by the distillery box in addition to an extremely sturdy cardboard armor from Paneco.com themselves.

their website is well-organised and a breeze to navigate. alcohol can be filtered by spirits type, brand, country of origin and even bottle size, and their prices are really quite competitive compared to other mainstream online retailers. (for those reading from other countries: yes, alcohol in Singapore is expensive as a result of taxes and all, though these prices are already on the better side as it stands for us.)

it's also clear from the browsing menu page whether an item is in stock, and there's an option to create a wishlist and to request them to notify me when something i had wanted is back in stock. there's also an order history tied to my account which allows for one-click reorders of the same goodies in the future; it really makes shopping so convenient and tailored to me.

another plus that i like about Paneco.com's service is that as long as i get my order in by 4pm, i enjoy free next-day delivery to my doorstep - this applies with no minimum spend for spirits and beer, though wine requires a minimum spend of S$80 for free delivery. and even if i cross the 4pm mark, the free delivery would be made on the following day, no big deal. they also deliver seven days a week, which makes ordering on weekday evenings or on the weekend super fuss-free.

in all my experience ordering from them, it's come down to a turnaround time of (at most) a day or so with free delivery, which is perfect when stocking up for a house party or just replenishing the bottlekills in my larder. they do have options for same-day and express two-hour delivery for an additional fee, though i've never had to use either of those before.

in the lead-up to their mega 11.11 sale today, i noticed a sweet little deal and picked up this bottle of Glengoyne Balbaína to enjoy in the run-up to Christmas. just look at the amazingly beautiful colour on this one, which really exemplifies the quote on the Paneco.com box that "whisky is liquid sunshine" (George Bernard Shaw).

this review is of a product that i had purchased at regular price with my own money. i wasn’t asked to review this as a condition of receipt and didn’t receive any incentives for writing this. i’m not affiliated with Paneco.com or Glengoyne and as always, all opinions remain my own.

Paneco.com's catalogue is available here. check out their 11.11 sale deals for even better prices too!
