Parchment Studios - This Moment In June, CocoaPink - June Wedding

are we halfway through 2020 already? how time flies, just like cupid's arrows.

as we bring this lovely summer month to an end and usher in the start of the second half of the year, i felt it was quite apt to enjoy two beautiful scents perfect for celebrating the special moment of a summer wedding Parchment Studios' This Moment In June and CocoaPink's June Wedding.

Parchment StudiosThis Moment In June (Mrs. Dalloway, Virginia Woolf – A summer evening party in bustling London.  Bouquets of carnations and roses waft through the air, soft yet regal.  An ode to friendship and life and happy moments.  A clean floral blend, delicate and feminine.) is a chaste kiss from a rose in the coolness of a summer evening.

both in the bottle and on my skin, this scent is so remarkably light and clean. it's a simple two-note wonder: carnations, check; roses, check. straightforward, no fuss, no frills. and yet somehow the the blend is more than the sum of its parts. the scent is also relatively stable without any major morph after application, remaining almost the same as in the bottle. i get about 3 hours of wear on my skin with this, which was slightly shorter than expected, but then again given how light the rose and carnation are in this, i'm not that surprised that it faded so quickly.

This Moment In June showcases both component florals like a soft breeze, a whisper of rose and carnation on the wind. it's as light as a ballerina en pointe, quiet, unassuming, fleeting.

7/10 this is a beautiful scent that i enjoy wearing, and i absolutely love the timeless elegance of the bottle, though i'm not feeling significant anguish at not being able to get a replacement when i'm done.

CocoaPink's June Wedding (Soft white wedding cake filled with a center of fresh blackberry jam then decorated with an intoxicating bouquet of pale jasmine sambac flowers, lilac and wisteria petals.) is a lovely flormand that really evokes the joy of its name.

in the bottle, it's almost all soft florals - the lilac and wisteria are most dominant, though there's a thin thread of jasmine that ties them both together. it's nice to sniff in the bottle though i love it much more on my skin - after about 15 minutes of wear, the florals just open up much more and a really sweet, sticky blackberry emerges to blend seamlessly with them. there's also a deliciously refined white cake note beneath, which i can totally imagine as a five-tiered wedding cake with a sugar topper.

through the 4 or so hours of wear on my skin, the florals are positively blooming like a bridal archway of lilac and wisteria over the cake; a celebration of a special moment and memory. June Wedding is a flormand which gives equal showtime between the blackberry/white cake and lilac/wisteria, and is overall quite a treat to wear.

7.5/10 i'll enjoy finishing my little vial of this, and am on the fence about possibly getting a linen spray replacement when i'm done.

this review is of scents that i had purchased at regular price with my own money. i wasn’t asked to review these scents as a condition of receipt and didn’t receive any incentives for writing this. i’m not affiliated with Parchment Studios or CocoaPink and as always, all opinions remain my own.

Parchment Studios (formerly Latherati) has closed in mid-2019 and unfortunately their scents are no longer available.

June Wedding is part of CocoaPink's spring and summer scent list, which can be found here. they have a variety of products which can be ordered for the scents that they carry, such as linen sprays from US$6.95 for a 2.5oz bottle and perfume from US$5.50 for a 2.5ml sample vial (before shipping).

all information correct at time of publishing.
