Luvmilk - Starhopper (milk bath)

over the weekend, i indulged myself with a little treat - a Luvmilk Milk Bath in Starhopper (It's a mouth watering blend of sweet and sour tamarind with melon, papaya, and mango).

Starhopper was an exclusive scent to Sucreabeille when they sold Luvmilk products in their Indie Marketplace. from the perspective of an international consumer, the Indie Marketplace was a Mecca of sorts, as a one-stop shop that allowed me to purchase products from different houses without incurring expensive shipping costs multiple times over.

the Milk Bath powder smells creamy and, indeed, milky with a dryness to it; it's literally the same note that you would get from smelling a tin of powdered full-cream milk. the Starhopper fruits come across deliciously to make this smell like a rich tropical smoothie pre-mix. the melon and mango are the dominant notes here, balanced against the lightest touch of a slightly-sour tamarind that is surprisingly accurate and reminds me of Indian chicken curry. thankfully, the fruits and milk are strong enough to beat the tamarind into submission such that i don't feel like i'm swimming in a fruit curry.

adding about 1oz of the powder to a warm bath released even more of the scent, filling my entire bathroom with this mouthwatering aroma. it was sweet, tropical and fruity, like relaxing in a giant bowl of punch. the water also took on a relatively-opaque bright blue which added to the sense of fun in the whole bath experience. though it smelled so delicious that over the 45 minutes or so that i was soaking in this, i had to remind myself at least twice not to give in to my instincts to take a sip of the pretty blue water and had to content myself with enjoying the smells.

cleaning up after was also a breeze as the Milk Bath didn't leave behind any residue or staining in the tub. my skin did feel smoother and more moisturised after the bath, and i was pleasantly surprised that the scent lingered for a while even after i had dried off, such that i was still floating in an aura of tropical punch when i drifted off to sleep an hour later.

7.5/10 overall, this was a great bath experience that i enjoyed very much, a nice relaxing way to end the day and savour the weekend.

this review is of a product that i had purchased at regular price with my own money. i wasn’t asked to review this scent as a condition of receipt and didn’t receive any incentives for writing this. i’m not affiliated with Luvmilk or Sucreabeille and as always, all opinions remain my own.

Luvmilk has opened their waiting list for orders here

Starhopper was a Sucreabeille-exclusive scent that was originally available on their Indie Marketplace but now appears to be out of stock. it's a pity that i won't be able to get this particular blend of tropical fruits any more, but Luvmilk has such an amazing line of gourmand baths that i doubt i'll feel too much heartbreak over it - they're going to make my bathroom smell better than my kitchen on baking day.
