Advent Scent-lendar 2020

happy advent to all who are celebrating this season!

advent calendars are really both a boon and bane in december - on one hand, they provide a (relatively) cost-efficient way to sample a wide variety of offerings from a brand, though on the other hand it's always hard to shake off the feeling of wastage considering that realistically not everything in there would work for me.

with it being the season for good cheer (and gift-giving), i decided to take a more frugal approach towards my own presents this year by making my own advent calendar (scent-lendar?) out of winter-themed perfume samples and smaller full-sizes that had not received enough love from me over the course of the year.

i figured that it would be a great way to explore all my favourite indie perfumes and rediscover something that i may have overlooked before, without needing to spend a large amount on the typical commercialised advent calendars.

was inspired by Stereoplasm to wrap these prettily with reused wrappings and scraps i managed to scrounge together around the house, though i was disappointed that the end result was nowhere near as professional as theirs. after wrestling with my twenty-seven little presents, i've gained an even deeper respect for how they wrap every single bottle that leaves their lab, so consistently and beautifully.

i'll be reviewing these little gifts to myself over the course of the month, so stay tuned!

this collection comprises perfumes that were purchased by me at regular prices, received as advertised promotional gifts with purchase or purchased second-hand from other indie perfume lovers. i wasn’t asked to review these as a condition of receipt and didn’t receive any incentives for writing this. i’m not affiliated with Stereoplasm or any of the perfumeries involved and as always, all opinions remain my own.
