Whisky Journey 2020 - Highlights

Whisky Journey 2020 has come and gone, and i had a really awesome time traveling around Singapore to visit the fifteen participating bars over the ten-day period.

with the impressive range of whiskies available and diverse experiences at each of the bars, here’s a quick ‘round-up’ of the highlights for me:
  • favourite whisky: Bunnahabhain Toiteach A Dhà (loved it so much i bought not one, but two bottles at Whisky Journey prices) - review here.
  • second favourite whisky: Tomatin Cask Strength (loved it so much i bought a bottle from Whisky Journey Singapore) - review here.
  • most unique whisk(e)y experience: Currach Single Malt Irish Whiskey from Origin Spirits Ireland - a strong blend of soy sauce, toasted sesame, briney seaweed and a rich buttery goodness as it transitions into umami salted caramel on the finish. full review here.
  • top three memorable bar experiences, with special thanks to those who had gone above and beyond to make it that way:
    1. SLATE (Jay) - review here.
    2. Silvermalt (Chandrew and Zonn) - review here.
    3. The Other Roof (Bev) - review here.
Whisky Journey 2020 was definitely an eye-opening experience, and i'm so glad that i was able to take part this year. it allowed me to not only expand and refine my palate better, but also to discover new distilleries and watering holes to which i would gladly return again.

this review is of products that i had purchased at regular price with my own money. i wasn’t asked to review these as a condition of purchase and didn’t receive any incentives for writing this. i’m not affiliated with The Whisky Store or any of the other participating bars / distilleries, and as always, all opinions remain my own.
