Galatea Cosmetics - The Labyrinth (wax melt)

red is considered an auspicious colour during the lunar new year, so in line with the trending colour scheme so far, i decided to use these lovely red wax melts in The Labyrinth (Winding ever deeper toward the heart of a maze, toward a mysterious foe at the very center... Date fruit, dragon's blood resin, olive wood, clay) from the Fantasy Destinations collection by Galatea Cosmetics.

even in solid form, the throw on this is just incredible. the intense aroma of resinous wood and clay just leapt out on opening the little plastic container, and i love the deep colour on them as well. the throw is so good that apart from using these in a melter, it's actually a viable option to break a block off and use as a subtle closet scent.

contrary to the stereotypical impressions of wax melts providing a nicely calming atmosphere, The Labyrinth offers a thrilling adventure through scent. the dragon's blood and dates impart a sweetness to the wood, while retaining a deep resinous quality that's almost sensuous when combined with the soft clay.

it's a perfect atmospheric especially for immersion in role-playing games - using this over the flame turns my entire room into the depths of an unexplored maze, darkly forbidding yet with the promise of exciting discoveries. it lasted for a good six to seven hours with a great throw, and i enjoyed it so much that i'm keeping a solid cube near my gaming station for the immersive experience. 8/10.
