Damask Haus – Witchberry

{product received for free for the purposes of review}

with falloween (a portmanteau of fall and halloween) right around the corner, i've decided to dedicate the entire halloween month to everything sinister and spooky. the next few days are going to be wonderfully witchy, with a lineup of my favourite sorcerous scents!

today's scent of the day is «Witchberry» by Damask Haus, a gourmand as sweet as the berries that one would imagine witches harvest, brew into potions, then use to lure children away.
the scent certainly lives up to its name - in the bottle, «Witchberry» is a potent concentration of sweet strawberries, raspberries and redcurrants.
yet these don't smell like berries that have just been picked fresh from the forest; they've been brewed with some mysterious witchy ingredients by moonlight, with the result being a potion of alluring sweetness.
personally, i find that «Witchberry» is a little too saccharine-sweet for everyday wear, though it absolutely hits the spot as a comfort scent or to temper an unexpected crabby mood.
come to think about it, perfume bottles and vials are almost like specific potions that one can pick and choose from to affect one's own emotions and perspective of the world.
and perhaps that's probably the most witchy part of fragrance - a touch of magic, a touch of mystique, to transform reality and be who you want to be.
