Hidden Spirits Whisky – Young Rebels No. 10

{undercover feature of own purchase}
with falloween (a portmanteau of fall and halloween) right around the corner, i've decided to dedicate the entire halloween month to everything sinister and spooky... bet you never expected that there were whiskies that could fit the bill too!

in the lead up to October 31, i've been enjoying sorcerous scents and today was supposed to be a witchy whisky (literally!) to match.

i was intending to open this bottle of Hidden Spirits Whisky Young Rebels 5-year-old Campbeltown for the occasion, but after clocking off work this evening, my stomach just wasn't feeling up to snuff.

i deeply regret not being able to feature nosing and tasting notes of this one, particularly since it's such an apt bottle to go with the week's theme.

however, i felt that it was more important to practise what i preach, and that's to drink responsibly - not just in terms of quantity or frequency, but also knowing when it's better to abstain, and following through with it.

i guess it would have been a different issue if i were a professional reviewer being paid or sponsored for today's post... but since i'm not, i just wanted to share some thoughts with my fellow hobbyist reviewers here today.

i know it's tempting to want to keep pushing out content, to get those likes and shares and comments all coming in; it may feel frustrating if you had the best idea or ideal draft ready, but your physical and mental health must always come first.

when it comes to sharing your own collection, we're all among friends here. friends care, and friends value you and the truth more than having a new shiny post on their feed.

please don't ever feel forced to do anything #forthegram, especially if it involves airbrushing reality to meet others' expectations.

live in the magic of the moment, and don't let the 'gram make a witch out of you.
and as always, stay safe and drink responsibly!
